Feels slightly limited due to the seemingly obligatory origin plot that comic book flicks feel they need to get out of the way but RDJr has Tony Stark down and the films a very enjoyable, entertaining, funny popcorn flick.

Second best movie of the summer, in my opinion. Robert Downey Jr make and excellent drinking, womanizing Tony Stark. The effect are pretty much unnoticable. You know they had to use CG, but it doesn't stick out like it did in the HULK. Great movie, even if your not familiar with the comic character. However if you know something about the Marvel Univers, you'll get some hints about future movie plans.

it was awsome,and its probably not far from the other superheros movies but this one have their own strenght in it,and Robert Downey Jr's character really fits in,i can not imagine if someone else plays it.I can not wait to see the sequel..and for your info,if you wait long enough after the credits rolled,you can see the scene between Robert and Laurence Fishburn as his next opponent or partner? i don't know...lets see about that....Awsome

rdj was frikkedy awesome, jeff bridges and terence howard were amazing, the soundtrack was ace, and the post-credit ending almost made me cream myself (it was totally worth going back and watching the movie a second time cos i missed it the first time ;)
my only problems were that the didnt play the sabbath song in it's entirety, and gwyneth (she just irks me no end...)
those 2 problems were ok though, cos it was FRIKKEN AWESOME!!! -

Tony Stark, ce n'est pas grand chose au bout du compte. L'homme derrière lui, par contre, c'est autre chose. Même si on a déjà vu Robert Downey Jr. dans de bien meilleures prestations (Zodiac, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), il est probablement l'élément le plus agréable du film, en ce sens où il se démarque tout de même assez bien du scénario infiniment banal par un jeu d'acteur assez coloré, quoique tout de même quelque peu déplaisant dans certaines scènes du film.
Par moments, même en étant un adepte des films de superhéros du genre, il faut avouer que l'ennui me guettait et qu'il ne m'en aurait pas fallu beaucoup pour laisser toute forme d'intérêt se dissiper en-dedans de moi. L'entrée en matière du film est très intéressante, mais tout ce qui se situe entre l'introduction et la conclusion, toute cette partie consistante qu'on appelle habituellement le ''milieu'' ou le ''pilier'' du film est abominablement longue et truffée d'effets spéciaux qui tentent tant bien que mal de camoufler la pauvreté des dialogues et de l'intrigue. Les ennemis sont prévisibles bien à l'avance, les petits dénouements n'en sont plus et les personnages sont franchement bien typiques. Même l'affrontement final, moment bien attendu dans ce genre de film, n'est pas parvenu à me satisfaire pleinement.
Par contre, avouons tout de même que ce genre de film demeure quand même bien agréable si l'on est un fan de Marvel, et que seule la finale du film aura eu le mérite d'éveiller en moi un léger frisson qui n'aura perduré que quelques millièmes de secondes. En ce sens, peut-être même l'une des meilleures finales de films de superhéros du genre.

A very good start in bringing in Iron Man, but that doesn't mean it was a good movie. How Iron Man comes to be was great, but the rest of the film got dull and boring especially when he meets his first villian. The villian in this film is soooo weak that it felt too easy to destroy him. Not a good start, but it does introduce Iron Man and it's upcoming sequel will hopefully be much better than this first outing.

I FINALLY got to see this movie on the way to my vacation destination this past week! Gotta love planes with all the new technology; however, I digress...
What else can I say but, AWESOME! RDJ was amazing as Tony Stark. Gwyneth and Terrence both played their parts well too! The effects were killer, the plot was entertaining... It carried on the trend of great superhero movies released in summer 08! -

An awesome movie filled with all kinds of cool action and special effects. The movie shows the character of Tony Stark as a likable guy (which in the current comics it's the opposite I guess) and the character of IronMan as an invincible terrorist slaying action hero. It has a great story and throws in some pretty cool cg filled fights that remind you oh-so much of Transformers (this of course being a way better movie).

The film has 'snap' - great timing and great dialog.
The film 'crackles' with great acting and a sharp, well-developed script.
And the film has 'pop' with dynamic and explosive action.
Iron Man is the best superhero film of 2008.

The film is a joyride, a shining example of great summer popcorn fare. The cast is fantastic, and their enthusiasm for the project translates to the spirit of the adventure onscreen. Because the characters seem to have greater depth and complexity than the story explores, the film gives the impression of having only scratched the surface (warranting much anticipation for a sequel), but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The film is nimble and quick but too smart, too classy and too much fun to be called "lightweight." It is equally entertaining and convincing, and it feels more like a great comic book come to life than any superhero film in recent memory. I eagerly await part 2.

This is a fucking ultimate film experience...did I love it...yup...did I LOVE RDJR...yes yes and yes. This film is great, fun entertaining, socially conscience, and kick ass, never a dull moment.

I didn't really want to see this movie, but damn im really glad i did...
definitely one of the best movies of 2008, and one of the best marvel movies made i think...

Tony Stark is the complete playboy who also happens to be an engineering genius. While in Afghanistan demonstrating a new missile he's captured and wounded. His captors want him to assemble a missile for them but instead he creates an armored suit and a means to prevent his death from the shrapnel left in his chest by the attack. He uses the armored suit to escape. Back in the U.S. he announces his company will cease making weapons and he begins work on an updated armored suit only to find that Obadiah Stane, his second in command at Stark industries has been selling Stark weapons to the insurgents. He uses his new suit to return to Afghanistan to destroy the arms and then to stop Stane from misusing his research.

nice one , i liked all comice book ppl ,,, but do u think they can make more then one ,, like the X-man ,, but hulk2 , or more iorn man2 , ghost rider2 , there r 100,s of comice and they cant make a story out of it . shit .
how much $$$$$$$ and u will have one .
