This is the French and Belgians doing what they do best. It's quirky, visually inventive, exhilarating and emotionally challenging storytelling.

    True.

We caught this Movie late at night, never heard or read about it before. I aint gonna say what my Husband thinks about this Movie.
    After the Movie GIDEON!
I never thought any Movie will ever touch my Heart. This Movie so heartwarming. You laugh and you ll cry.
French tend to make Movies too Dramatic, but this was different.
Many people had problem with the End. The End was really frustrating and they added that song. I cried my eyes off.
The song is about " love for a Mother." Very Intense and touching.
Comparing this to Rain Man, Rain man looks sillier.
The Eighth Day (Le Huitième jour)Recommendable for the ones, who sometimes enjoy Dramatic European Movies. We watched it in French, but I guess it has English Subtitle, if you get it on DVD. Definitely worth watching.

Maybe a French Rain Man, but perhaps this is the most simple and cute dramatic tale ever told in its purest form. Worth at least one watch.

Another great French movie, or maybe I'm just a fan of the French cínema. Le Huitième Jour (The Eighth Day) is a moving story about a salesman and a man with Down's Syndrome. This movie brings you moments of absolute hilarity, as well as sincere scenes that could really move you. It has been almost four years since I've seen this movie but I'd like to see it again, and I'd recommend anyone to see it.

This movie is a typical french beautiful film that shows the same great acting as done by the same person in "Le Placard".

the dreamy european style of this film will n ot be to everyones tastes, the difference in how symbolism is constructed in western culture movies in comparisson to european films is very cleaqr to see. Yet if pursued this is an engaging film that does not require you to fully understand a language to appreciate its connotations. The underlying social implicities of not fitting in and the resolution is both heart rendering and devastating, this is unusual but extremely compelling if you can stick with it.

tears and tears and tears roll on your face and you cannot help it ...it is a film about music poem lyric that a seemingly idiot find in life but he is smarter than all who look normal ...it shows a poetic so beautiful view about our own earth it begins with light and ends with chocolate

The inserted music is good enough, and though Georges is Down's Syndrome sufferer, his thinking is special, who can blame him?
